Social Media Disinformation, Surveillance Seen as Growing Threats to Democracy: Freedom House

Governments around the world are increasingly using social media to manipulate elections and monitor their citizens, in a worrisome trend for democracy, human rights watchdog Freedom House said Tuesday.
